LOS ANGELES, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Evite, the leading social event planning service on the Web, today announced that Rosanna McCollough has been appointed the company's General Manager. In this capacity, Ms. McCollough will oversee all aspects and activities of the company from product and technology to marketing and business development. Ms. McCollough will report directly to Peter Horan, CEO of IAC Media and Advertising.
Ms. McCollough joins Evite after spending seven years at WeddingChannel.com -- the #1 wedding and gift registry website offering engaged couples comprehensive planning ideas, advice and interactive tools to plan their weddings, as well as a patented registry for guests to buy gifts. As Senior Vice President, Ms. McCollough was a member of the management team and was responsible for product development, marketing, and editorial. She also served as a frequent media spokesperson until the company was sold to its competitor.
"Rosanna has an outstanding track record of business success spanning nearly 20 years," said Peter Horan, CEO of IAC Media and Advertising. "In addition to her very relevant experience with the Evite user demographic, Rosanna brings strong leadership skills, a sharp analytical mind and a true passion for Evite. She will be instrumental in shaping the future of Evite as the continued leader in the online social event planning space."
"I am delighted to join Evite and proud to be leading such an innovative company," said McCollough. "Evite pioneered the online social event planning space and has aggressively maintained its leadership position for nearly a decade. I see many opportunities for Evite to continue to grow and meet the ever-changing communication needs of consumers, while also evolving the brand organically."
Prior to WeddingChannel.com, Ms. McCollough was the Vice President of Marketing, Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation Licensing & Merchandising. Earlier in her career, she spent about ten years in marketing in consumer packaged goods companies where she directed strategy, invented top-selling products and developed advertising campaigns for leading brands such as Neutrogena and Max Factor. She started her career in advertising at Foote, Cone & Belding. Ms. McCollough will be based in Evite's Los Angeles office.
Evite will remain an IAC company after it separates into five publicly traded companies, spinning off HSN, Ticketmaster, Interval International and LendingTree. Expected to be completed in the second or third quarter of this year, in addition to Evite, the new IAC will include:
Evite is the leading social event planning service on the Web facilitating more than 16.5 million invitations to more than 475,000 events each month. With Evite, hosts become the life of the party by having access to everything needed to throw a great event, including complete social planning and creative party theme ideas, free online invitations, planning checklists and other tools. Evite makes planning easy and saves hosts both time and money. Launched in 1998, Evite is headquartered in Los Angeles.
